We are seeking a fulltime 2-year
term Marketing Advisor to support the Medicine Hat Destination Marketing
Organization (DMO) and the APEX Entrepreneurship Incubator in Medicine Hat,

local entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises to develop and adopt
new technologies, commercialize innovative new products, and improve
productivity. This partnership has successfully received funding to support the
APEX Entrepreneurship Incubator for 2 years.
Reporting directly to the Executive Director of
the DMO, this role provides oversight, supporting strategic direction, industry
development and support, relationship building, and facilitating educational
initiatives as applicable. The Tourism Medicine Hat team builds on what
Medicine Hat and area have to offer the visitor; by working with stakeholders
to develop and grow their business.
This position will also work with the APEX
partnership to promote the newly funded APEX Entrepreneurship Incubator and
APEX services as a hole. This includes print materials along with electronic,
such as the website and social media. In addition, they will assist the APEX
Entrepreneurship Advisors in providing support to clients in need of marketing
expertise. This could include, but is not limited to, tourism entrepreneurial
clients, and underemployed post secondary grads and former oil and gas workers.
Your role includes:
Supporting the mandates of the DMO and
the production of communication tools from electronic to print, including
costing and liaising with printers and vendors.
ongoing research to ensure communication tools are designed within the context
of media and design trends
relevant to target audiences.
Assisting in the development of new
marketing initiatives for APEX, the DMO, and the tourism industry.
Providing marketing coaching and
advisory services to local businesses and potential start-ups.
Document and complete required
Other duties as assigned.

Highly skilled communicator and
conduct presentations with multiple groups.
Exceptional organizational and time
management skills with attention to detail.
Proficient with web, social media and
certificate or diploma in marketing and communications or a related
post-secondary program preferred. However, a combination of education and
experience may also be relevant.
Experience as an entrepreneur would be
considered an asset.
