RELOCATION: CLIMATE:

Medicine Hat's climate is semi-arid with dry, hot summers and mild winters. Rainfall averages 230mm per year. As Canada's sunniest city, we have the longest growing season in Alberta (120+ days). Low humidity makes both summer and winter temperatures much easier to take. In winter a chinook wind can raise temperatures by as much as 34C/93 F in one day, an experience never to be forgotten!

The chinook is a warm, dry wind that descends the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains in winter.
