RELOCATION: CLIMATE:Medicine Hat's climate is semi-arid with dry, hot summers and mild winters. Rainfall averages 230mm per year. As Canada's sunniest city, we have the longest growing season in Alberta (120+ days). Low humidity makes both summer and winter temperatures much easier to take. In winter a chinook wind can raise temperatures by as much as 34C/93 F in one day, an experience never to be forgotten! The chinook is a warm, dry wind that descends the western slopes of the Rocky Mountains in winter. Mean Daily Temperatures July: 23C or 73F For 24-hour local weather information, call Environment Canada at (403) 526-0483, or check on-line: http://www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca/city/pages/ab-51_metric_e.html |
