The Great Big Paddle Postponed till 2021

The Great Big Paddle - 2020

The Medicine Hat Paddling Club and Tourism Medicine Hat are excited to be co-hosting the Great Big Paddle on, the historic South Saskatchewan River, through Medicine Hat.

The Great Big Paddle welcomes all paddlers; from Kayakers, Canoeists, Stand Up Paddleboarders, to Rafters and of all skill levels, from beginner to experienced.

Leisurely enjoy the moving waters of the South Saskatchewan River and the landscapes of the sheltered coulees of Medicine Hat as we paddle down river on the South Saskatchewan River from the pristine oasis, Echo Dale Regional Park (Boat Ramp) through the heart of Medicine Hat, ending up at the Strathcona Island Park Boat Ramp.

With the expected good Summer weather, we expect to see well over 120 Paddlers for this adventure, more than any other year!

Everyone will depart together from Echo Dale Regional Park Boat Ramp sharply at 12:00 p.m.. To ensure you are part of the start of this great 2020 Flotilla, please launch your craft before 11:50 a.m..

A Group mass-start photo will be taken on the water at 12:00 Noon sharp.

All participants must ensure that they have all the legally required Transport Canada Safe Boating Regulations, Safety Gear on their Boats, and all must be properly wearing their Life Jacket / PFD.

The Medicine Hat Paddling Club will provide Water Safety support for this annual Summer event.

So whichever boat you float, bring it out and paddle with us!

Can’t wait to see you on the water.

(stay tuned for more updated details on this fun, Paddling afternoon, in the Sun, on the Historic South Saskatchewan River)
