“Between June 11-14th, 2026, join Alberta's naturalists, species experts, and environmental groups in documenting as many species as you can! Simply upload your photos of birds, plants, mammals, moss, lichen, mushrooms and insects to iNaturalist. Your contributions will be used to help understand more about the species that call Alberta home.”
To align with Nature Alberta’s province-wide Biodiversity Challenge, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is offering a free guided nature walk from 10am to 12pm on Saturday, June 13th in Police Point Park. While we walk and look for wildlife to photograph, we will discuss using the free easy-to-use app (iNaturalist) to contribute to this and other awesome citizen science initiatives. Registration is not required.
