Come out to the Echo Dale viewing point on the evening of August 12th to watch the Perseid meteor shower with us! Known for their bright colours and fireballs, the Perseid meteors are considered the "best meteor shower of the year," by NASA. During the peak of the shower 50-100 meteors can typically be seen per hour!We’ll be meeting at the Echodale viewing point on Saturday, August 12th at 11:30pm.The gates will close by 1:00am.August 12th is when the meteor shower is predicted to have peak activity, but if conditions are not receptive to viewing the meteors then the event will be pushed to either the 11th or the 13th.
