Come play the fastest growing new sport in North America! Cornhole is a game in which players take turns throwing bean bags at a raised platform board with a hole in the far end. A bag in the hole scores 3 points, while one on the board scores 1 point. Play continues until a team or player reaches or exceeds the score of 21. Cornhole dates back as far as the late 1800’s and through the years variations of the game have been played like Bean Bag Toss Game, Horseshoes, Bull’s Eye and Bags. The sport evolved primarily in the United States in the early 1980’s. Most people play at the cottage or tailgating outside a local sports venue. But the game is now played at a Pro level with events being televised on ESPN in the United States. Cornhole Canada was established in 2019 to provide athletes a structured environment for all levels of Play. They govern, sanction and standardize the sport, which is a registered not for profit organization with the Canadian government and the official sanctioning body for our sport in Canada. The SouthEast Alberta Sundogs are one of 41 leagues in Canada, 9 in Alberta that are sanctioned by Cornhole Canada. Come play every Wednesday at the Robertson Legion. The new season starts March 6, and goes 8 weeks to April 27. Pay $80.00 for the season or you can do drop in for $15.00 per session. Come on down to the Dogpound!
