What is Medicine Hat’s Sunshine Trolley?

The Sunshine Trolley is one of the most unique ways to see Medicine Hat. The trolley runs Wednesday through Sunday in July and August. The Trolley picks riders up at the Visitor Information Centre and goes to landmarks around the city, with options to hop off at a few important locations. Specific hop-off spots are dependant on the Tour Guide.

What Should I expect?

The Sunshine Trolley makes stops at the local sites of significance identified in the schedule.

We will be offering guided tours with Barry Finkelman, Corlaine Gardner, Judy Dickie, Sally Sehn and Trevor West.

We provide young riders with a free scavenger hunt to complete along the journey.

I need a bathroom break! Help?!

We welcome all Sunshine Trolley riders to use the public bathrooms at the Visitor Information Centre before boarding. The bathrooms are open every day the Trolleys operate.

Every Trolley makes a stop at Medalta, where washrooms are available.

What make/model is the Sunshine Trolley?

We now operate two trolleys!

The red and green Sunshine Trolley is a 2008 Supreme Trolley. It was purchased in 2022 from a vintage vehicle collector in Clarke's Beach, Newfoundland.

The red Sunshine Trolley is a 2011 Supreme Trolley. It was purchased in 2025 in Arlington Texas. It was used in the Arlington Entertainment District to take visitors from hotels to events, such as sporting events and amusement parks.

How many seats are on the trolley?

The 2008 Trolley seats 26, and the 2011 seats 33.
